Little Little Prem
After her own experience with a premature baby, Nicolle Grosskopf realised how few resources are out there for moms and babies in her position and decided to do something about it.
Nicolle’s own baby, whom she considers her little “preemie miracle” was born at 34 weeks. During this challenging time she experienced first-hand how lonely many mothers of prem babies feel and how difficult it can be to get the right products for your child and yourself. So in 2019 she founded Little Little Prem, a one-stop online store for premature and NICU babies. She knows that parents with preemie babies are already feeling overwhelmed and shouldn’t have to run around trying to find essentials that fit/ work for their tiny baby. Her convenient online shop provides products such as: premature baby dummies and bottles, premature nappies and tiny preemie clothes, NICU journals and milestone cards to record precious moments in the newborn’s life. There are also essentials for breastfeeding, baby toys and other thoughtful goodies to explore.
The octopus or “octopal” is one of Little Little Prem’s unique products. It acts as a calming aid for a newborn baby as the tentacles remind the premature baby of the umbilical cord in the mother’s womb. Babies can hold onto in the octopus soft toy, which makes them feel comforted and less likely to pull on tubes and other equipment while they are in the NICU. Plus the little octopals are just cute 🙂

Nicolle has also started a WhatsApp Support group for old and new NICU moms, providing lots of support and a place to receive advice and encouragement.
