Eine Kleine Kind is a family-business success story, where a bit of creativity and perseverance led to a flourishing little wooden furniture company for kids and babies.
Isabel and Nico Deport always dreamed of owning their own business. 3 years ago, while Isabel was on maternity leave with their second child, the idea of designing and manufacturing kids’ furniture was born. The business started off as a small sideline project. During the first wave of Covid-19, Nico lost his job. This initially came as quite a blow, but also provided him with the opportunity to devote more time to the furniture business on a daily basis.
Since then, the sideline project has blossomed into a small business with its own little warehouse. They now have the capacity to accept custom commissions and have been able to expand their range to not only include kids’ furniture, but also home interior items and indoor plants.
Eine Kleine Kind is a business centered around family. The husband and wife team base many of their creations on items they find useful for their own children and both the grandfathers assist with orders and fatherly advice.
Their products are handmade from quality wood with touches of steel work on request. They like keeping it simple and functional, but modern – to suit everyday moms and dads.
